Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of SoCalDocuPrep.com.

We are not attorneys and do not give legal advice.  |  Preparation fee covers documents only. Court fees are paid directly to the court.

1. Who We Are

SoCalDocuPrep.com is a website owned by Ven Document Services LLC, a California company that provides non-legal, self-help document preparation as a registered Legal Document Assistant (LDA). By using this website, our intake forms, or any of our services, you agree to these Terms.

2. Not a Law Firm; No Legal Advice

We are not attorneys and we do not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or representation. We do not tell you which forms to file, how to answer them to reach a particular result, or whether a course of action is right for you. If you need legal advice, consult a licensed attorney.

3. Scope of Our Services

We prepare California family-law and related self-help documents from the information and selections you provide, at your direction. You choose the service and the forms. We do not choose forms for you, give strategic advice, or appear or file on your behalf except where a specific service expressly includes filing.

4. Your Responsibilities

  • You choose the service and confirm the forms to be prepared.
  • You provide true, complete, and accurate information; we rely on it and do not verify it.
  • You review every document before signing or filing, and tell us of any error first.
  • You remain responsible for filing, deadlines, court fees, and tracking your own case.

5. Fees and Court Costs

Our fees are flat document-preparation service fees only. Court filing fees, recording fees, Secretary of State fees, process-server fees, and all other third-party costs are separate and are paid by you directly to the court or provider unless a service expressly states otherwise.

6. No Guarantee of Outcome

Courts and government agencies make their own decisions, which are outside our control. We review documents for completeness and consistency, but we do not guarantee that any document will be accepted by a court or agency or that you will obtain any particular result.

7. Refunds

Because our work is custom document preparation, fees become non-refundable once we begin work, except where applicable law requires otherwise. If you cancel before we begin, we may issue a partial or full refund at our discretion, less any processing fees. We do not issue refunds based on a court or agency decision.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ven Document Services LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California.

10. Controlling Language

This website may be made available in other languages for convenience. If there is any difference or inconsistency between a translated version and the original English version, the English version controls.
